Zurich Insurance Group has signed a deal with Accenture to generate better value from its SAP finance and business intelligence applications.
The five-year agreement will see Accenture develop, implement and manage the applications that support the insurer’s operations in North America, Germany, Switzerland and the UK.
It is hoped that once complete, Zurich Insurance will benefit from “faster and more collaborative decision-making” within its finance IT organisation.
The SAP applications support a range of processes within Zurich Insurance, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close and balance-sheet reconciliations.
“Our goal is to generate the most value from our applications, working with our finance leadership, to build the foundation for a world-class finance organisation,” said Markus Nordlin, chief information technology officer, Zurich.
In other SAP news, it was revealed last week that the software giant currently has 20 customers live on its in-memory HANA Enterprise Cloud offering. SAP’s Stephen Spears said, however, that there are “hundreds” of new customers currently in the pipeline.
