National Australia Group Europe, which includes Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank, has signed an extension to its outsourcing contract with Accenture for application development and management services.
Under the three year contract, which extends until 2015, Accenture will continue to provide its application outsourcing services for a number of the bank’s key business and customer applications. The original contract was signed in 2007.
The extension is part of the bank’s goal to make its IT function more flexible and scalable, by increasing its use of Accenture's Global Delivery Network. According to the plan, services will be provided from multiple locations.
Earlier this year, a software update error caused thousands of Clydesdale Bank and Yorkshire Bank customers to make incorrect payments on their variable-rate mortgages.
