Leading distributor of heating, plumbing and construction-related products, Wolseley UK, has struck a multi-million outsourcing deal with Capita.
The 18-month contract will see Capita implement and manage a network infrastructure and call handling solution across Wolseley’s 644 branches, which trade under brands such as Plumb Centre, Parts Centre, Pipe Centre and Drain Centre.
It will be deploying Capita’s Office Connect Service, which uses VoIP and LAN technologies, to centralise voice services. Wolseley hopes this will enable the delivery of highly secure data, voice, video and application solutions.
Traditional desktops will also be replaced with thin client devices, reducing maintenance and upgrade costs, which Wolseley hopes will increase employee productivity.
