Warburtons has signed a five year contract for Atos Origin to provide helpdesk support.
The contract covers the baker’s 2,000 IT users, and will mean there is phone and online support for those using front and back office systems, including SAP.
Warburtons uses SAP for sales, production planning, quality management, purchasing, finance and human resources. Atos Origin will provide advice for using SAP to manage regulatory demands and bring products to market, using its SAP centre of excellence for consumer packaged goods.
Warburtons previously used two undisclosed suppliers for helpdesk and SAP support, and said the move will reduce costs and improve service. The baker also plans to implement an online self service tool to report and monitor general IT queries.
Damien Ghee, IT and programme director at Warburtons, said the move would help the baker improve services and “ensure that we get the best value from our SAP systems”. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, Atos Origin this week took steps to quell a shareholder rebellion, by announcing that chairman Didier Cherpitel would step down.
