Subscribers to Three’s mobile services have been angered this morning after an apparent network outage that left many without access to data services over night.
Users across the UK began experiencing problems late last night, which were still persisting this morning.
Three prides itself on being the mobile operator for heavy internet users, offering reasonably priced all-you-can-eat data packages. Its website states:
“We believe that as many people as possible should be able to enjoy the internet on our network. It’s what we’ve always been about, and it’s what we think makes us different from everyone else.
“That’s why we’ve invested in bigger data pipes and our new Ultrafast technology to bring faster speeds to 80 percent of our network already. But we’re not complacent, we’re always striving to do more and to be better.”
Computerworld UK spoke to a spokesperson for Three, but she was unwilling to clarify how many users were impacted, what parts of the UK have been affected, what the cause is and how long data services will be out for.
A statement from the company said: “Some of our customers are unable to access the Internet. We are working to restore their data services as soon as possible. We apologise to all those affected for any inconvenience."
Users took to Twitter to vent their frustrations. One subscriber to the network (@haliimahh) said: “#Three is the worst network ever…can’t wait until my contract ends #sigh”.
Whilst Andy Willetts (@andywilletts) said: “Absolutely no 3G signal on Three anywhere in central London. Not great for a network that purports to be built for the internet.”
