Transport for London deploys secure file transfer system

Automates data workflows

Transport for London (TfL) has deployed a secure file transfer system across its 60 business units to protect customer, partner and operational data.

As well as protecting TfL's data, the new Ipswitch's MOVEit system is also automating and simplifying data workflows, saving internal departments "significant amounts of time", said TfL.

Ipswitch partner HANDD Business Solutions provided TfL with implementation and consultation services when rolling out MOVEit in its on-premise data centre.

The relationship continues post-implementation with HANDD Business Solutions available as TfL’s first point of contact for support, architectural discussions and potential improvement recommendations.

Last month TfL revealed plans to ditch cash payments on London buses as contactless cards gained greater accceptance across the capital's transport network.

A consultation aims to gather reponses to the proposals, which would see all fares being paid through the TfL Oyster card or through other contactless payment cards, bringing an end to all cash payments on the bus network.
