Veteran IT industry analyst Richard Holway has joined management consultancy Regent Associates, which specialises in acquisition services for the IT sector.
Holway’s career stretches back to the IT industry’s pioneering days. He started as a programmer in 1966, rising to become group marketing director of Hoskyns – now Capgemini – in 1979 before forming Richard Holway Limited in 1986.
Richard Holway Limited became an authoritative voice on the financial performance of the UK software and IT services market, best known for the annual Holway Report, the monthly newsletter SYSTEMHOUSE and, in 1996, the Hotnews internet news service.
The company was acquired by analyst firm Ovum in 2000, with Holway as a director and analyst. In 2006, Datamonitor acquired Ovum and Holway stepped down from its board.
Regent Associates chair Peter Rowell said: “We are delighted to have Richard on board. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Regent.”
Holway has joined the board of the firm’s parent company Regent Partners International as a non-executive director.
