This month’s SAP UK & Ireland user group conference is the biggest yet, with more than 1,000 delegates.
Alan Bowling, chairman of the SAP UK&I user group, told Computerworld UK he was “delighted” with the attendance rate “given the current economic climate”.
The conference, held on 21-23 November in Manchester, promises to be particularly interesting because SAP co-chief executive Jim Snabe will appear. Snabe is expected to outline some of SAP’s product plans and answer user issues.
SAP has been keen to repair its image in the eyes of users, following heated disputes over licensing and service costs. In the last year, it backtracked on the costs following the concerns, and has been sharing product plans with user groups.
Jose Duarte, Europe president at SAP, told Computerworld UK recently that he was “excited” about Jim Snabe having the chance to talk directly to a large group of SAP users. “I hope people will see SAP in a different light,” he said.
Comedienne and celebrity interviewer Ruby Wax will open the conference on the first full day, followed by the first IT keynote from SAP UK&I chairman Alan Bowling.
A number of streams will run throughtout the event, including Business One, CRM, EPM, emerging technologies, finance, HR, SME, payroll, SaaS, SCM, solution manager, training and upgrades.
Additionally, for the first time there is a Business Objects stream, offering expertise on the software in dedicated sessions.
“It really is an excellent chance for users to learn a lot, meet their peers and share experiences,” Bowling said.
Tickets are available for £250.
