Salesforce.com is opening its first data centre in the UK, as it create 500 new jobs across Europe.
After recently reporting a 41 percent increase in full year revenue growth in Europe, the on-demand cloud CRM specialist is planning new data centres in the UK, France and Germany.
Salesforce.com plans to open its first data centre in the UK in August 2014, with additional data centres to open in France and Germany in 2015.
Large customers in Europe that could be serviced by the new data centres include BMW Group, Pernod Ricard and Zeiss.
Miguel Milano, president of EMEA at salesforce.com, said: "Our tremendous growth and customer momentum is why salesforce.com is significantly increasing its investment in Europe, by adding 500 new jobs and opening three new data centres across Europe, in the UK, France and Germany."
The Financial Conduct Authority in the UK recently selected Salesforce as its key platform for authorising and supervising all the firms that it regulates.
