Insurance giant RSA, formerly known as Royal Sun Alliance, has renewed an IT consulting agreement with Accenture.
RSA has extended an existing deal by three years to keep its relationship going until 2015. Accenture will continue to provide RSA with application outsourcing, systems integration and management consulting.
The deal covers managing the critical customer relationship management, claims processing, commercial lines and policy management applications. RSA uses Accenture insurance industry applications, including Accenture Insurance Solution and Accenture Claim Components and in August 2009, extended an apps outsourcing deal with Accenture.
RSA signed its initial deal with Accenture in 2003. Accenture also supply business process outsourcing to RSA.
Last month RSA completed the integration of the Accellion file transform platform to increase and secure file transfers across the global insurance provider.
RSA CIO James de Watteville began his career at Accenture and has worked closely with his former employers since joining RSA.
"Most of the senior people I've brought in I've worked with elsewhere. The Accenture lead team are my ex-bosses at Accenture," he says of the RSA contract with Accenture. "We all have deep, deep form," he told CIO UK in an interview.
