Snack and sandwich retailer Pret A Manger has selected an on-demand marketing management system to administer in-store campaigns and automate the production of point of sale promotional material.
Pret has 155 branches in the UK, with a further 25 planned to open during the next 12 months. The snack seller has a constantly changing range of food on sale and was looking for a way to distribute marketing material efficiently and to produce new artwork as needed.
It will deploy Pierhouse’s on-demand Media Management Services package, which includes an automated artwork production system. Pierhouse has developed a series of templates to flow Pret data and images through the automated artwork system, producing up to 2,000 artworks an hour that can be sent as print-ready PDF files anywhere in the country.
The system will hold all Pret’s marketing data and imagery in a central repository and identify current, forthcoming and obsolete promotional material. Artwork, launch bulletins and events calendars are linked to enable Pret to synchronise its promotional activity.
Pret commercial director Simon Hargraves said the system would save the business time and money, and address environmental issues.
“Detailed profiles of every store, by type, will be incorporated into the system meaning staff will be able to order online via our intranet system, PlanetPret, only material that is appropriate for their shop. This means they will only ever receive accurate and usable material, with nothing wasted,” he said.
