Wines and spirits group Pernod Ricard is implementing the Informatica PowerCenter data integration platform in a bid to standardise its data collection and facilitate business intelligence reporting globally.

The system is currently being deployed in the UK, USA and Australia, and is already in place in Asia.

Pernod Ricard, the maker of Jameson whiskey and Havana Club rum, decided it needed to consolidate a number of disparate systems following operational changes and multiple acquisitions. It began by implementing a common ERP system, and this resulted in a project to overhaul the company’s analytical tools region by region, with a common data integration solution collecting and sharing data across various applications.

The intuitive mapping capabilities within PowerCenter enabled fast migration of Pernod Ricard’s subsidiaries to the Informatica platform resulting in faster time-to-value.

Jean Chavinier, chief information officer at Pernod Ricard, said the company was able to process large volumes of data quickly. “This is essential for guaranteeing rapid access to Pernod Ricard’s strategic information,” he said, “and a large number of analytic applications will now benefit”.
