Palm's Treo 750v and Treo 750 now support Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6 operating system after the smartphone maker released an update for European customers.
The free download could also allow Treo 750 owners to use their smartphone as a high-speed modem for their laptops, according to Palm, as it includes support for the HSDPA wireless standard.
"Palm continues to work closely with Microsoft to maximise the benefits of Windows Mobile and to deliver the best mobile experience to Treo customers," said Roy Bedlow, vice president, Palm EMEA
Windows Mobile 6 brings newer versions of Microsoft's mobile Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint tools and also includes support for push email for customers running Exchange Server 2007.
The Windows Mobile 6 Professional update for the Treo 750v smartphone is available now on Palm's website.
