The Department for Culture, Media and Sports (DCMS) has signed a £14m seven-year managed services deal with Atos Origin.

Under the terms of the deal, which continues a 15-year relationship between DCMS and Atos, the contractor will deliver and manage all the department’s IT infrastructure and services.

Atos will also manage all applications support and development and a new enterprise content management service.

DCMS chief information officer Mark O'Neill said: “We have worked with Atos Origin since 1993 and have been impressed by their commitment to deliver and their strong understanding of our business needs.”

Atos Origin is also the IT contractor for the London Olympics in 2012, the highest-profile area of DCMS’s responsibility. The IT services firm has been the IT supplier to the last few Olympic Games and is currently working on £200m systems for this year’s Beijing Olympics.
