The Linux Professional Institute (LPI) has formed a partnership with Novell to standardise entry-level Linux certification programmes on LPIC-1.

Under the terms of the partnership, all qualified LPIC-1 holders will be able to apply for Novell Certified Linux Administrator (CLA) certification without additional exams and fees.

This opportunity is not available to LPI candidates in Japan, however.

Novell Training Services has also agreed to include required LPIC-1 learning objectives in its CLA course training material.

In December, LPI expanded its training partner programme to include 44 countries, including the University of Lancaster’s ICT Focus in the UK and Howe Systems in Ireland.
