Supermarket chain Iceland has signed an £11.5 million outsourcing deal renewal with Getronics.

Under the seven year deal, the Netherlands-based service provider will manage Iceland’s IT, including server hosting, security, system management, service desk provision, and PC and Blackberry support.

It will also continue to manage Iceland’s databases and printing.

Mark Pearson, IT director at Iceland, said the service would provide the retailer with “stability and security in terms of our IT platform in the current financial climate”.

Iceland’s local and wide area networks are managed separately by BT.
