HSBC will install Teradata server platforms and databases as it attempts to improve business intelligence.
Under a new contract, the bank will install Teradata 5550 servers and Teradata 12 RDBMS databases. It will place its UK data warehouse on these platforms.
Capgemini will work on the installation alongside Teradata. Last month, HSBC renewed its IT support contract with Capgemini for two more years, and said it was attempting to improve the speed of product launches as well as make customer service better.
Under its business intelligence strategy, HSBC will work on managing risk, compliance and handling the fast growth in data volumes.
