Internet giant Google is celebrating its tenth birthday


Internet giant Google is celebrating its tenth birthday.

The firm was started by founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin in a Stanford University dorm room, and then run out of a suburban garage.

In the years since, Google has come to dominate the web search market, expanding into enterprise search, messaging, blogging, social networking and recently a mobile platform Android and its own web browser Chrome.

Now employing more than 19,000 workers in 20 countries, the company has also increased in regard from enterprise IT buyers. The search engine giant is estimated to be worth close to a massive £74 billion in market value.
