Google appoints ex-Oracle exec as new Enterprise VP

Sebastien Marotte, senior VP of technology for Oracle in the Asia-Pacific region, has been appointed a Google VP.

Marotte will take the VP role at Google Enterprise, which sells business software, for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

He will be responsible for leading sales teams across the region, as well as the development of business strategy.

Marotte originally spent 15 years in sales management at Hyperion Solutions, which was acquired by Oracle. He started Hyperion’s French operations, and proceeded to oversee other European markets and became VP of Asia Pacific in 2005.

At Google, Marotte will be based in London and will report to Amit Singh, VP of international enterprise sales.

Singh said: “With years of experience in the technology industry and a strong track record of delivering significant revenue growth and managing cross-functional teams, Sebastien is perfectly positioned to lead our EMEA teams as our business continues to grow and the industry becomes more competitive.”
