The Fat Face clothing chain has deployed a cloud-supported point of sale system.
BT Expedite was brought in to deliver its Store 6.3 point of sale system to 206 Fat Face stores across the UK, Ireland and Jersey. The deployment also includes audit and operations management and customer relationship management modules.
The new system is hosted and supported by BT Global Services’ scalable On Demand Compute cloud platform, so that it can grow in line with Fat Face’s needs, but charges are based on the processing power that is actually used.
Fat Face is also using BT’s managed payment service specifically designed to meet the Payment Card Industry Security Standard (PCI DSS), and to take advantage of evolving contactless payment technology.
Leon Shepherd, business change and IT director at Fat Face, said: “Fat Face needed to improve its POS systems as the current solution was struggling to cope with our rapid growth and multi-channel sales plans."
