Essex county council has implemented software from business intelligence firm Actuate to support its performance management arrangements.
The council is using Actuate’s Performancesoft Views software to automate the collection of its strategic performance data and to pump out information about its progress troards corporate objectives to its management team and to partner organisations.
Department heads are using the software to better understand their own performance levels and how these contribute to the council’s performance against its key indicators.
The council is also using the software to provide mambers of the Essex Local Area Agreement partnership board with performance management information on shared work.
Essex council performance manager Gill Butterworth said: “Our senior management board reviews corporate performance monthly, as will our Local Area Agreement partnership board, and Views underpins these reviews by providing the information on which we base the assessments of how we are performing.”
