Cornwall Housing has awarded Capita a 10-year contract to provide it with the outsourcer's full OPENHousing software suite.
Cornwall Housing manages over 10,000 houses. The Capita contract includes the installation and implementation of the housing software, and the training and project management of professional housing management services.
The software will enable Cornwall Housing to store and access data about all of its properties and customers in one place. This will result in greater efficiencies across the organisation, benefiting both employees and residents, said Cornwall Housing.
The OPENHousing software will give residents access to self-service tools, including a web portal that will offer a new channel for communication with Cornwall Housing, to query rent accounts, report repairs, make payments and more.
Emma Blatchford, head of resources at Cornwall Housing, said: “Capita’s software will underpin the day-to-day management of our properties and will help streamline and enhance the services that our residents use and receive – whether this is applying for a home, paying rent or reporting anti-social behaviour.
“Our employees will benefit too, as we continue to modernise our service delivery by introducing more mobile methods of working. The software will give them flexible options to work remotely from home or wirelessly across our communities while on-the-job.”
