Energy giant Centrica has signed an IT infrastructure outsourcing deal with T-Systems covering datacentre operations and desktop support services for 23,000 users.
The value of deal was not released, but industry analyst Ovum estimated the 10-year contract to be in the €600m to €900m (£400m to £600m) range
T-Systems has acquired two datacentres as part of the deal and more than 230 staff have been transferred to the outsourcer.
Centrica IS operations director Sean Dewhurst said: "Centrica's new partnership with T-Systems will build on the considerable investment we have made in our infrastructure over the last three years. We share the same vision and commitment to providing the highest standard of delivery across our data centre and desktop support services."
The deal is the largest T-Systems – a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom – has ever signed with a new customer.
