Outsourcer Capita’s Life & Pensions arm has signed a five-year applications deal with Steria.
Under the deal, for which a value has not been disclosed, Steria will supply offshore application development and support services to the division.
Capita said it hoped to cut costs as a result of the deal, and to reduce risk. This would be achieved by reducing the cost of administering each policy, and improving the stability of applications, it said.
Craig Rodgerson, IT director at Capita Life & Pensions, which sells its own outsourcing and administration services to life insurance and pension firms, said Capita’s main objective “was to manage our IT expenditure, so that we could offer our clients the most cost effective service possible”.
