Outsourcer Capita has acquired STL Technologies for an undisclosed sum to boost its criminal justice offering.
STL provides software and ICT to the criminal justice system, including courts and the police, and to asylum and immigration tribunals.
STL specialises in case management applications and currently provides the Equis case management platform to Her Majesty’s Court’s Service, and the Libra case management system to the Ministry of Justice.
STL also provides national case management and accounts to the Scottish Courts’ Service, and case preparation and custody applications to West Midlands Police.
Andy Parker, Capita joint chief operating officer, said, “The acquisition of STL will provide further depth to the range of solutions we offer the emergency services, criminal justice system and wider public and private sector clients.
"It has significant synergies with our existing justice and secure services business, which holds contracts with the Ministry of Justice and the UK Border Agency. These additional capabilities will allow us to provide new solutions, on a tailored basis, alongside our multi service offering.”
STL has around 105 employees, mainly in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk.
Last month Capita acquired Northgate Managed Services from Northgate Information Solutions for a "knock-down price" of £65 million.
