Canon Europe has signed a deal with Capgemini for the outsourcer to support a business information management (BIM) programme, called One View.

The programme aims to consolidate management information and business intelligence functions across all business units within Canon Europe, creating standard processes.

Canon expects One View to drive significant operational cost cuts. The initiative will cover Canon UK's operations located in Surrey, London, Birmingham, Livingston and Belfast.

As part of move Capgemini will help Canon Europe set up a Business Intelligence Competence Centre (BICC), in addition to building and maintaining a new enterprise data warehouse. Capgemini will support these facilities using its own onshore and offshore IT capabilities.

The value of the outsourcing deal has not been disclosed by either side.
