Fashion retailer Burberry has gone live with a major new SAP implementation in its warehouses and European retail outlets, less than four months after its began the dual projects.
The news came as the company announced that sales in the third quarter to 31 December were 26% higher than in the same period last year.
In a statement, firm said: “As anticipated, the all important third quarter was an intense period of activity for Burberry, with our new IT systems in warehousing and European retail operational for the first time.”
Burberry said in November it would also use SAP to write all orders, procure goods and take inbound deliveries for this year’s spring and summer merchandise.
The company is in the second half of a five-year IT overhaul known as ‘Project Atlas’, centred around a major SAP roll-out. It is has cost £50m in the last three years and looks to be on track and on budget despite some project delays.
