British Telecom’s wholesale division has hired a new chief executive to replace outgoing boss Paul Reynolds.
Sally Davis, who has worked at telecoms providers including Mercury Telecom in the UK and Bell Atlantic in the US, is taking up the post. She has also been a chief portfolio officer at BT.
A recent restructuring of BT’s wholesale division means Davis will focus on IT services and software contracts instead of the 21st Century Network that had been a major area of focus for Reynolds.
The 21st Century Network business, BT’s IP-based fixed line network, is instead now part of two other divisions, BT Design and BT Operate.
In the quarter to 30 June, the wholesale division won £2bn worth of contracts and was cited by BT Group chief executive Ben Verwaayen as one of the firm's star performers.
