BT Global Services is to outsource management of its worldwide IT contractor workforce to the Manpower group of companies.
The deal will allow BT Global Services to consolidate its contractor agency relationships into a single supplier arrangement. The consolidation is aimed at making it easier for the communications and networking firm to mobilise appropriately skilled staff quickly to meet customer requirements.
Manpower and its IT recruitment subsidiary Elan will take on responsibility for BT Global Services’ current contractor workforce as well as supplying future workforce requirements.
BT Global Services’ president of global business and services, Gary Bullard, said the firm needed “access to the best resources – in terms of skills, experience, flexibility and cost”.
He added: “In addition, we needed to simplify our current supply chain and with Manpower we have found a partner with the global reach and local know-how to help us achieve this quickly.”
The two firms have worked together for over 18 years, with Manpower providing recruitment and human resources services to a number of businesses across the BT group.
