Britvic has signed a three year application development and support deal with Atos Origin, as it tries to cut costs and improve IT service levels.
Atos Origin will manage the soft drinks firm’s key SAP and Siebel systems in Europe, as well as other back office software. It will deliver the work from the UK and India. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
Mike Jones, chief information officer at Britvic, said the company wanted to make its back office IT more efficient. “This new contract forms part of a broader initiative to improve and streamline our back-office functions, so that they can better help us meet our business strategies and objectives,” he explained.
Britvic, which manufactures drinks including Pepsi, Robinson’s Fruit Squash, Tango and 7-Up, said it will work with Atos Origin to make sure its software supports a growing supply chain. It also wants to make sure it can respond quickly to peaks in sales demand, which it said often happened when it launches promotions or when there is good weather.
