Car hire firm Avis Europe has chosen an electronic payment service from CyberSource to handle transactions on its reservations website.
The service will allow Avis to accept payments in a range of currencies to cater for customers from across Europe. The payment infrastructure is designed to offer a secure, robust service that can be scaled up to meet
peaks in demand.
John Phipps, director of web development for Avis Europe, said: “The new website is a key part of our strategy to differentiate the consumer experience. We needed a reliable payment processing solution that could
seamlessly integrate with our website.”
In December Avis introduced search engine optimisation tools from Web Gravity to boost traffic to its website and generate additional sales. The car rental firm implemented a multi-lingual search campaign and used a tracking system to monitor the performance of its website on major search engines including Google and Yahoo.
