Atos Origin buoyed by contract wins after tough first half

Atos Origin has experienced another tough set of results in the UK, but has reassured itself that new contract wins in the market will bolster its future.

Atos Origin has been bolstered by several new UK contracts in a first half that otherwise saw it struggling.

In the first half of the year, its UK revenues slipped 2% to €528m (£355m) as organic growth slowed 4%. This was despite a 7% group revenue growth to €2.9bn (£2bn).

But the company, which recently lost two key Department of Health contracts, prided itself on new contract wins worth “nearly” £290m in the British market.

It won contracts including InterContinental hotels, Premier Inn, and distribution firm Electrocomponents, as well as from NHS Connecting For Health and NHS Blood and Transplant.
