Adecco Group UK, part of the global human resources consulting group, has signed a five-year £20 million cloud services contract with BT.
BT Business says it will help Adecco increase the flexibility and reduce the cost of its IT and communications services, by moving to cloud-based services and only paying for what it uses on a utility-based pricing model.
The contract covers the supply and management of a new voice and data network, including cloud-based telephony capabilities.
The deal also includes a BT IT support team, along with the replacement of 3,000 in-branch computers and laptops.
In addition, the contract paves the way for Adecco to introduce a bring your own device (BYOD) programme and policy, to create a more flexible working environment.
In order to help the Adecco UK board understand the positive impact the technology would have on their branches and staff, BT said it built a showcase that could be tailored to executives’ particular area of business to highlight specific benefits.
Brad Dowden, global head of branch offices at Adecco Group, said: “The BT Business team took a very different approach to the other companies we looked at, managing to capture the imagination of my team, as well as the UK board, with a passion for the project that has led to a unique approach and solution to the challenges we face as a business."
He said: “We set a very wide brief, but the BT Business team we worked with developed a programme that will allow us to change the way we work, making teams more flexible and effective, whilst helping us to drive down costs by only paying for what we use.”
