The BCS Chartered Institute for IT’s Woman’s Group and Women in Technology are calling for more women to enter a free awards ceremony that aims to promote females working in the sector.
The everywoman in Technology Awards celebrates the success of women working in the technology sector, and aims to encourage more women into the industry by highlighting successful role models. It also gives women an opportunity to raise their profile in their organisation, as well as in the industry.
To encourage more entries, the BCS and Women in Technology are hosting a networking evening that will allow people to meet last year’s winners to hear their stories, and get tips on how to prepare their nominations.
Winners attending the event include Juliet Tzabar, managing director of Plug-in Media, Leesa Soulodre, VP of Northern Europe and Asia Pacific at Augure UK, Naomi Chayen, professor of biomedical sciences at Imperial College London and Stephanie Nicolaou, ICT systems analyst at Agusta Westland Helicopters.
The networking evening will take place on 1 November 2011 at 6pm, at BCS Southampton Street in Covent Garden. It costs £7.20 for BCS members and £12 for non-BCS members. Drinks and nibbles will be provided.
The deadline for nominations, which can be placed here, is 25 November.
An awards ceremony announcing the winners will be held at The Savoy in London on 29 March 2012.
