Accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers has signed a deal for Logica to provide it with business process outsourcing for its payroll services.
From December, Logica will run the payroll service for 18,000 current PwC employees and those on its pension plan.
The main system is an Oracle HCM platform, which will be hosted by Logica, and will interface with PwC’s existing human resources and finance systems. PwC will pay for the service on demand.
PWC said that as a result it would be able to run error tracking, as well as advance checks on payroll rather than having to wait until the end of each month.
The company will also run a management dashboard to monitor payroll, run workflows and generate group emails when needed.
Logica recently won contracts with construction company Taylor Wimpey and an applications management contract at British Airports Authority, but is axeing 1,300 European jobs as part of a £110 million restructuring plan after a challenging last year.
The Home Office also signed a contract with Logica for a long-feted vetting and registration system for staff working with children and vulnerable adults, and the Foreign Office has an £11.5 million website improvement deal with the firm.
