Ofsted (the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills) has awarded a four year contract worth £1.6 million to London-based integrator CACI to deliver a new IT system to support social care inspections.
CACI will use its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software OfficeBase to integrate and manage core parts of Ofsted’s social care process such as registration, scheduling, inspection and enforcement.
The ERP software will be used by more than 200 Ofsted staff to help inspect roughly 4,600 social care providers every year.
Ofsted said it will help to ensure ‘accurate, timely and quick-to-access management information’ and help to make its social care wing more efficient and effective. It added that a key part of its decision to implement OfficeBase was its ability to capture, share and access safeguarding information securely.
The software will help to streamline internal processes and drive efficiency, according to Ofsted.
