Andy Green is to take over as chief executive of LogicaCMG in the new year, the company said today. He will replace acting CEO Jim McKenna on 1 January.
Green only recently took over as CEO of group strategy and operations at BT, after heading up BT Global Services, the tecchnology division of the telecoms giant, for six years from 2001 to April this year.
"Andy Green is the ideal person to become CEO of LogicaCMG”, said the firm’s chairman-designate David Tyler.
“He is an experienced and widely respected leader in business services and has helped to create significant value for BT's shareholders over many years.”
Long-standing Logica CEO Martin Read announced in May that he would retire after the company issued a surprise profits warning. The IT services firm said at the time that although its public sector business was holding up well, it was struggling in the commercial sector.
Green was replaced in BT Global Services earlier this year by former Lucent executive Francois Barrault, following his elevation to to CEO of group strategy and ops in charge of overseeing BT's push to transform itself into a software-based business.
The date when Green will stand down from the BT board has yet to be announced.
