Tony Kerrison, a cloud computing expert who is chief technology officer at Dutch bank ING, has been appointed chairman of the Enterprise Cloud Leadership Council (ECLC), run by non-profit industry association TM Forum.
The ECLC is aimed at helping establish cloud computing standards among enterprises. Its Frameworx suite of standards is intended to assist companies to streamline their cloud adoption and improve the benefits delivered.
Kerrison has extensive cloud computing experience, and TM Forum plans to draw on this beyond deployments in financial services firms alone.
TM Forum said his cloud deployment expertise “will help enable and grow the adoption of cloud standards across industry verticals within the ECLC's membership, including financial services, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, government and defence, aerospace and advertising”.
ECLC members include telecoms firm AT&T, aerospace business Boeing, financial firms Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank, and technology vendors CA Technologies, Cisco, HP and Microsoft.
“The ECLC are the thought leaders that have active cloud programmes and are driving the standard and the marketplace for the adoption of cloud services for all types of enterprises,” said Kerrison.
“ING's experience in adapting training methods and common process models, like ITIL, to cloud environments is helping to create a full set of cloud services standards that can be used by any organisation."
