HP has released a series of SOA governance software and services designed to speed up the technology's adoption.
Among the new services announced are the HP Validation and Implementation Services for SOA Governance, Performance and Quality. HP claims it helps companies accelerate delivery of SOA services, reduce risk and maximise reuse of such services.
SOA is an approach to delivering IT services in which loosely connected business software allows for common functions to be used interchangeably by internal departments and external business partners.
The company has also introduced new services to install and configure HP SOA Systinet and HP SOA Manager to enable a quicker return on a customer's software investment.
The company said that the HP SOA Systinet software delivered complete design and run-time governance of SOA services, as well as service life cycle management through an enhanced integration with HP SOA Manager.
For independent software vendors, the IT company has designed a new software product, the HP SOA Registry Foundation.
In addition, the company announced the expansion of its Governance Interoperability Framework (GIF), with 10 new partners, including Active Endpoints, Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, JackBe, Layer7 Technologies, LogicLibary, Nexaweb, Oracle, Sonoa Systems and Vordel. GIF simplifies the exchange of information between HP SOA Systinet software, which acts as a system of record, and third-party technologies.
As companies can now choose from a growing number of SOA services, they face potential risks such as service disruption to the business.
