Car maker Ford has renewed an IT services deal with supplier CSC.
The deal, for infrastructure, datacentre and application management services, covers customer service operations in 19 European markets. In the UK, Ford sites in the North West, West Midlands and Oxfordshire are affected.
The deal, for which CSC had not provided a value at the time of writing, has already run for 15 years. In 2007, CSC acquired Covansys, which was providing offshore application development support services to Ford, and the deal with CSC now encompasses all of that work.
Ford UK also has an outsourcing deal with Logica for payroll services, as well as staff time and attendance records. It is using an Oracle HCM-based payroll system, which is being integrated with its existing Oracle Peoplesoft application that is hosted by Logica.
A year ago, Ford signed a deal to use hosted supply chain software from Sovereign Business Integration, to help control its outbound flow of cars from manufacturing plants, as well as to monitor all overseas ports from which cars are shipped to this country.
