The government's chemical weapons research centre in Porton Down, Salibury is tendering a £1.5 million managed software development contract.
The contract will support "chemical, biological and radiological defence research", said DSTL, which runs Porton Down.
The three-year contract covers analytical, scientific, mathematical and forecasting software development services.
DSTL said: "We have a requirement for a supplier (or suppliers) of managed software solutions, with the required expertise and experience for software and modelling tasks to support scientific research."
The deal will cover software integration projects, new software development projects, and ironing out bugs, among other areas.
