Molson Coors, which brews Carling, Coors Light and Grolsch, has signed a contract with Vodafone for a mobile field service management application to help improve the efficiency of its maintenance service for customers.
The application will run on a Panasonic mobile device, allowing engineers to receive necessary details about their next job including information about the customer, existing equipment installed at the site and the customer’s previous maintenance history. Engineers can also use the application to report job status and update customer records.
Molson Coors supplies its beers and dispensing equipment to thousands of pubs, clubs, restaurants and other outlets across the UK. It is also responsible for managing the installation and maintenance of pumps that deliver its beer in the outlets.
Jon Standen, head of customer technical services at Molson Coors, said: “The new Vodafone application means we can allocate jobs according to an engineers’ location at any given moment, the equipment they have available and their expertise.
“As a result engineers can make the best use of their time and be able to help our customers quicker.”
The application is being used by the company’s 170 field service engineers.
