Computacenter IT employees who are members of the Communication Workers Union (CWU) have voted to accept an ‘above-average’ pay rise.
The pay deal will affect staff working on BT and First Group contracts.
According to CWU, members have supported a 2.6 percent increase in basic pay and pay related allowances.
The London Weighting allowance will also increase by 2.6 percent, will be backdated to 1 January 2014 and is consolidated.
CWU assistant secretary Colin O’Callaghan led the negotiations on behalf of the CWU.
He said: “Even though the offer did not meet the aspirations of the negotiating team, we’re pleased that Computacenter members have endorsed this pay offer which matched the rate of RPI against which negotiations took place and is also above-average across the job market.”
A total 57 percent of the 84 percent of Computacenter members voted yes in an electronic ballot that closed on Friday 7 February.
Computacenter staff expect to see the higher rate of pay in their February salaries.
Computacenter declined to provide a comment.
In 2010, Computacenter IT staff working for the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) accepted a two percent pay increase over two years to end 11 weeks of industrial action.
