BT and Siemens have signed a global partnership deal for the supply of identity and access management services.
The tie-up will see BT use Siemens Medical Solutions’ DirX integrated identity and access management products in projects for its clients.
The DirX suite is designed to offer flexible administration, particularly in the automated creation of user accounts and granting of associated access rights. The products are also aimed at providing scalable systems that can be easily integrated with SAP systems, such as Netweaver.
Ray Stanton, global head of BT’s business continuity, security and governance practice, said: “This ground breaking agreement underlines the ongoing strength and success of our relationship with Siemens, and brings to bear the combined skills and assets of our two organisations for the benefits of our clients in an area that is vital to the success and security of the modern organisation.”
Doris Hermann, vice-president, security and identity management, at Siemens Medical Solutions, said: “We are very excited by the opportunities to provide innovative and cost effective identity and access management services to our clients through this agreement with BT.”
The partnership will be started in the UK, Germany, France and the US before being rolled out elsewhere.
