We just went live with the new Service-now.com Winter 2011 release which has some very interesting new applications for social IT. Have I mentioned before the ease of upgrading? We come in on the morning of the upgrade and work as normal, upgrade done!
In my last entry I mentioned we have a growing number of requests from the business asking to run applications and processes on the Service-now.com platform. We are just formalising our 2011 roadmap and the reality of how busy this year will be is starting to hit home.
There are so many applications we want to utilise we are sure to be occupied for quite some time. The good news is that the live applications are operating smoothly and fluidly.
We have got involved with the “community” for a couple of our projects. We have been looking into integrating SAP Solutions Manager and Jira with our ITSM platform and we’ve been speaking to other users about their experiences to determine the best way to go about it. The “community” is a great resource, that’s for sure.
Also, our work continues on the service catalogue. Remember I said it was a mammoth task? Well it certainly has been. We’ve leaned on Service-now.com for some additional support to understand it better and to configure the workflows and it turns out that we were not that far off anyway. Now we are ready to start populating the catalogue with the numerous items we have identified.
