TalkTalk has chosen to move its legacy, on-premise HR system to the cloud with Workday.
The telecoms provider will be implementing Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), Workday Time Tracking and Workday Recruiting to make its HR IT systems more agile, automate processes, improve workforce planning and to provide more self-service functionality to staff.
“Our employees are critical to our success, we are investing in Workday HCM to not only support our development and growth, but also to give us the workforce insights we need to better manage talent and help inform business decisions,” said Nigel Sullivan, Group HR director at TalkTalk.
TalkTalk created a shared service HR function in 2011, but found that its legacy HR IT system was unable to support the evolving needs of the business. The telco declined to reveal the provider of its legacy system.
With Workday, it will be able to automate some of its HR processes, but still have the flexibility to configure new workflows or make changes to a particular process.
The new system will also give all employees greater self-service capabilities, accessible via any mobile device. For example, managers will be able to approve time off and manage annual pay reviews from any device, and employees will also be able to update personal data or request time off at any time and from anywhere.
Using the Workday systems will also provide TalkTalk with a single source of data about staff, from the recruitment stage all the way through their employment, including performance management and succession.
According to Workday, its Recruiting system will enable TalkTalk to identify the best internal and external candidates for jobs, and managers will be able to better match skills with the right opportunities in the business. HR managers will also be able to forecast skills gaps and plan to fill them accordingly.
The value and length of the Workday contract was not provided.
