Scotland’s leading IT professionals will gather next week to discuss the “10 big things” that will shape the future for their industry, at the ScotlandIS 2007 Global Forum in Edinburgh.

“This is a real chance for Scottish ICT businesses to discuss the latest thinking and market developments, as well as gaining an exclusive insight into the future for Scotland, helped by speakers from leading companies such as O2, Oracle, Deloitte Research, RBS and Metaweb Technologies.”said ScotlandIS executive director Polly Purvis

“There is a strong international flavour to the forum, and it is an exceptional opportunity for ICT people to share what is going on and to take part in the debate.”

ScotlandIS, the trade association representing more than 200 Scottish ICT companies.

The event, on 4 October is supported by Computerworld UK. Speakers will include Ian Smith, Vice President Oracle UK, Paul Lee, Director, Deloitte Research and Tim Thorne, Head of Group Innovation, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Jim Mather, enterprise minister in the Scottish parliament and others to pinpoint the opportunities ahead for IT.

ScotlandIS has partnered with Innovation Centres Scotland, to put on the event, which also includes ScotSoft’s prestigious Young Software Engineer awards presentation.
