The government has issued a contract notice for a human resources software and services framework, worth up to £500 million.

Buying Solutions, Whitehall’s procurement arm, said in the notice that the framework was for “the provision of software and managed services in respect of payroll, human resources (HR) & finance services”.

The deal, which unusually will only be offered to a single supplier, will run for four years. The government is looking for the most “economically advantageous” tender.

The framework will be available across the government, to Whitehall departments, local authorities, NHS trusts, charities, and other organisations including the BBC and Royal Mail.

Suppliers interested in participating have until 18 February to provide their information.

Last week, Buying Solutions published a contract notice for a traffic management system, worth up to £3 billion and available across government departments and other public sector bodies.
