Pizza franchise Domino’s is continuing to see strong growth in online sales, recording a 102% increase in web sales volumes for the six weeks to 30 December, against the same period in 2006.
The online growth helped to boost the company's revenues by 18% for the year, with online sales over the 12 months up 60% to £32.2m.
Domino’s spent most of last year touting its innovative e-commerce operation as its fastest growing route to market, and this is still the case. Domino's is also continuing to expand its store network, with dozens of new stores opening last year.
Domino's says its success is also down to the introduction of real-time display systems in franchises, showing the average speed of making and baking pizzas for each store and for Domino’s nationally, thereby encouraging staff to keep production times down and sharpening competition between franchisees.
