Internet service provider Easynet has fixed a server problem that led to repeated email outages for business users over a 10-day period.
Easynet said a “small number” of its enterprise users had been hit by intermittent delays to their email systems of around an hour between 23 January and 1 February. The delays were due to a server configuration problem, a spokesperson said.
“Less than 1% of our UK enterprise customer base were affected. The configuration has been rectified. We will continue to improve the design of the mail platforms,” she added.
Easynet was acquired by media giant BSkyB in a £211m deal in 2005. The acquisition added a potential broadband channel to the digital broadcaster’s portfolio and giving BSkyB the opportunity to offer customers a package of phone services, broadband internet and TV via broadband.
